We had a great last day of school before Christmas holidays. The students really enjoyed wearing their PJ's and having our brunch party!
Thanks so much to the parents who provided the wonderful brunch items for our party!
The students received a very special surprise during our party. They were so thrilled to receive their letters back from Santa. Each student enjoyed reading their letter and sharing them with their friends.
A party isn't a party without games, Rainbow Loom .....and LEGO!
Thank you to the parent council for providing popcorn for all of the students while they cozied up to watch "Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas" movie in the gym.
Thanks to Mrs. Delbridge for helping the students wrap their parent gifts!
Curriculum Update
The students always love sharing their journal writing during "Author's Chair." This week the students wrote a persuasive piece trying to convince Santa to hire them as an Elf at the North Pole.
During our writing workshop this week, the students worked through their Christmas activity booklets. Some of the Christmas activities included identifying homophones, antonyms, synonyms and making words.
The students also had time to work on their Year End Scrapbook pages.
We also continued to practice our cursive writing this week.
Math
During math this week we continued to review "adding 3-digit numbers with and without regrouping." The students also played the game"Race to Rudolph" which focused on the mental math strategy of "doubles plus 1."
VIP
Congratulations to Braydon for being an excellent VIP and classroom helper for the week!
