December 18 - 22nd

We had a great last week of school before Christmas holidays.

On Monday the students performed in the Grade 3/4 Christmas Concert.

The students loved making gingerbread houses with their Grade One buddies!

The students worked hard at making a special Christmas gift for their parents. They also did an amazing job of wrapping them!

PJ Day and Brunch Party

Thanks so much to the parents who provided the wonderful brunch items for our party!

The students received a very special delivery from our Elf on the Shelf. Chip personally delivered  the students' letters from Santa.  Each student enjoyed reading their letter and sharing them with their friends.

Thank you to the parent council for providing popcorn for all of the students while they cozied up to watch a movie in the gym.

VIP

Thank you to our VIP this week for being a great role model and helping so much around the classroom!

We also celebrated one of our friends birthdays.

Curriculum Update

The students were  excited to be given the opportunity to read to a buddy this week during our Reading Workshop.  The students sat "EEKK" and practiced the strategy "I Read, You Read."

Congratulations tor the students who flew to the next destination in our Amazing Race Home Reading challenge.

During our writing workshop this week, the students continued to record Chip's activities in their Elf Morning Report.

They also completed a snowman glyph activity that required the students to follow directions and create a customized snowman. Each snowman was unique just like the students!

Math

During math this week the students played the game"Race to Rudolph" which focused on the mental math strategy of "doubles plus 1."

The students also worked on answering Christmas word problems.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
