Writing Workshop
This week the the students finished writing their fractured fairy tales. They are now busy trying to get them typed using a template in Google Classroom.
Reading Workshop

Last week we released our butterflies and it rained shortly after. This prompted a conversation about whether or not the butterflies would be alright out in the rain. So I brought in one of my favourite books from my childhood called "Where does a butterfly go when it rains" by May Garelick. “A bee can fly back to her hive. A grasshopper can hide in tall grass. Where does a butterfly go when it rains? Perhaps you could read the book to find out?
Math
Geometry
The students also focused on geometry this week where they described 3D objects by identifying the number of sides, vertices and edges of the sphere, cone, cylinder, pyramid and rectangular prisms.

We covered the following fraction outcomes as well:

- write fractions for a given picture, including fractions that are not unit fractions.
- shade in a picture to show a given fraction.

Social Studies
This week we learned about the Culture and Traditions of Peru.
Bike Rodeo
The bike rodeo was a hit! The students participated in 5 events:
- Solemn Course
- Figure 8
- Stop on a Dime challenge
- Paperboy Relay
- Slow Race
